Ladies and Gentlemen, Brothers and Sisters,
Today, I stand before you not just as Don Zayeed Sayeed, a founder, CEO, and innovator, but as a proud son of Africa. A continent rich in history, culture, and unbounded potential. As we gather here, let us remember the essence of Pan-Africanism: the unity and solidarity of all African people, both on the continent and across the diaspora.
Pan-Africanism is not just an ideology; it is a call to action, a vision of shared destiny that transcends borders, languages, and historical divides. It is rooted in the struggles of our ancestors who, despite the brutal chains of enslavement and the relentless grip of colonization, never lost sight of their identity, their heritage, or their hope. From the first rebellions on slave ships to the uprisings on plantations and colonies, our forebears laid the foundation for the unity we seek today.
As the founder of Monocrone Space Exploration Technology, Mitochondria Motors Inc., Monocrone Technology Company LTD, and E.T.U.W. Group of Companies, I have seen firsthand the power of innovation and the boundless potential within our people. Our ventures into space, advanced automotive technology, and real estate development are not just businesses; they are testaments to the genius and resilience of African minds.
Through the Don Zayeed Foundation, we have strived to uplift our communities, driven by the belief that unity is vital to economic, social, and political progress. It is this same belief that fuels Pan-Africanism—a belief that by uniting, we can uplift each other and achieve greatness.
The vision of Pan-Africanism extends beyond continental Africans. It includes the vast African diaspora in the Americas, Europe, and beyond. It is a vision that acknowledges our shared history of struggle and our collective aspiration for a future defined by freedom, equality, and prosperity.
We must remember that Pan-Africanism is not just about our past but about our future. It is about building bridges, fostering understanding, and creating opportunities for all Africans, wherever they may be. It is about recognizing our common destiny and working together to achieve it.
The establishment of the Organisation of African Unity in 1963, now succeeded by the African Union, is a testament to the enduring spirit of Pan-Africanism. The African Union Commission in Addis Ababa and the Pan-African Parliament in Midrand, Johannesburg, are symbols of our collective efforts to unify and uplift our people.
Today, I urge each of you to embrace the spirit of Pan-Africanism. Let us celebrate our shared heritage, support one another in our endeavors, and work together to create a brighter future for all Africans. Let us harness our collective strength, creativity, and resilience to overcome the challenges we face and build a continent that is strong, prosperous, and free.
In the words of the great Pan-Africanist, Kwame Nkrumah, “Africa is one continent, one people, and one nation.” Let us live by these words and strive to make this vision a reality.
Thank you, and may the spirit of Pan-Africanism guide us all.
Don Zayeed Sayeed.
